LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP/WIS) - Lexington County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a second man wanted in connection with the shooting death of an elderly man last weekend.
Deputies caught up with 26-year-old Nicholas Williams at about 10:30 Friday night at a hotel on Morninghill Dr. in Columbia.
Arrest warrants allege that on the morning of July 28, Williams and Jeremy Brady went to the Juniper Springs Rd. home of 72-year-old Robert Lewis Mitchell, Sr. under the false pretense of buying prescription painkillers from Mitchell. Brady and Williams previously had bought prescription painkillers from Mitchell at his home.
25-year-old Brady was arrested Friday on a murder charge and an arrest warrant for murder was issued against Williams.
Investigators say the men had bought prescription painkillers from Robert Mitchell Sr. before, but went to his home on July 28 to rob him. Mitchell was shot several times in the chest with a shotgun.
Deputies say a safe taken from Mitchell's home was found in a car at Brady's house.
It wasn't known if Brady had an attorney.
