The wait for the 94th PGA Championship is almost over. On Friday, the first- and second-round groupings and tee times were announced as players get set to compete along the Atlantic Ocean at The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.
Defending PGA Champion Keegan Bradley, four-time PGA Champion Tiger Woods and 2010 PGA Champion Martin Kaymer will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Thursday on No. 10. The group will then begin their second round at 1:40 p.m. Friday on Hole No. 1.
Woods was able to sneak in a practice round at The Ocean Course on Tuesday. Bradley played the course back in the Spring during the PGA Championship's Media Day.
Another high profile group features the traditional PGA Championship grouping of the winners of the first three major championships of the year. Masters Champion Bubba Watson, U.S. Open Champion Webb Simpson and Open Champion Ernie Els will begin play Thursday at 1:20 p.m. on No. 1 and Friday at 8:10 a.m. on No. 10.
Bradley-Woods-Kaymer is one of three sets of PGA Champions who are grouped together in the first two rounds. Another PGA champion grouping features Shaun Micheel (2003), David Toms (2001) and John Daly (1991). That group starts Thursday at 8:20 a.m. on No. 1 and Friday at 1:30 p.m. on No. 10.
Padraig Harrington (2008), Phil Mickelson (2005) and 2012 United States Ryder Cup Team Captain Davis Love III (1997), all PGA champions, will tee off Thursday at 1:40 p.m. on No. 1 and Friday at 8:30 a.m. on No. 10.
The final PGA champion grouping consists of Y.E. Yang (2009), Rich Beem (2002) and Vijay Singh (1998 and 2004). Their group starts Thursday at 1:30 p.m. on No. 10 and Friday at 8:20 a.m. on No. 1. Singh spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week practicing on The Ocean Course.
Some other notable groupings in the first two rounds include Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Jim Furyk. They will tee off Thursday at 8:10 a.m. on No. 10 and Friday at 1:20 p.m. on No. 1.
Hunter Mahan, Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia will begin their first round Thursday at 1:10 p.m. on No. 1 and Friday at 8 a.m. on No. 10. Luke Donald, Brandt Snedeker and Zach Johnson tee off Thursday at 1:30 p.m. on No. 1 and Friday at 8:20 a.m. on No. 10.
Jose Maria Olazabal, the 2012 European Ryder Cup Team Captain, is the only participant represented from the 1991 Ryder Cup. He will play alongside PGA Club Professional Matt Dobyns, the 2012 PGA Professional National Champion, and Branden Grace of South Africa. The group tees off of Thursday at 7:50 a.m. on No. 10 and Friday at 1 p.m. on No. 1.
