FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WIS) -
A student accused in a previous sexual assault case at Fairfield Central High School has been once again accused in another, similar case at the same school.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Lewis with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Department, a 15-year-old female reported to law enforcement that three 15-year-old juvenile males asked if she would perform a sexual act on them in exchange for $5.
The victim said one of the 15-year-olds prevented her from walking away and also touched her inappropriately.
The 15-year-old suspect was charged with third degree assault and battery, but pleaded no contest in family court.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that suspect was one of three students accused of sexual assault on a 14-year-old student back in March 2012.
In that case, the victim was inappropriately touched while her teacher was out of the classroom.
Two of those teens pleaded guilty to the assault and were sentenced to 9 months probation and community service. The third teen did not enter a plea, but was also released on probation.
The county's new superintendent, JR Green says he's extremely disappointed.
"The students who were involved in this situation will be handled appropriately," Green said. "We take this very seriously."
Green also wants parents to know he's committed their children's safety.
"I'm a father of three daughters and probably what's most important to me before we even talk about providing a sound instructional program is that you provide a safe, nurturing environment," Green said.
The question remains if these three students will return to school in the fall. Green says the teens will undergo a review by a committee, but they could be expelled for up to one year.
