COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

For a second time in just a few weeks, the same home on Ferrell Drive caught fire early Wednesday evening and this time investigators someone intentionally set the blaze.

While an electrical short in a portable fan was blamed for the first fire, investigators say the second fire is being ruled as arson.

Just two weeks ago, a 7-year-old child was hailed a hero for alerting his family to the fire and getting them out of the burning home.

As for the second fire, officials are investigating the root cause and have not released any other details.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
