RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Richland County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two men accused of killing a man and leaving his body in a wooded area.

19-year-olds Dominic Cole and Quamell Tucker are charged with murdering 21-year-old James Shepard of Columbia.  Both men turned themselves in to deputies earlier this week.

Investigators say information from acquaintances led them to accuse Tucker and Cole with the crime.

Deputies say after the two robbed Shepard, they brutally beat him, shot him in the head, and dumped his body in a wooded area near Wessinger and Boswell Roads.

People walking in the area found the Shepard's body at about 9 a.m. Sunday.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Shepard died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Deputies continue to investigate the murder and they say they could make additional arrests.
