2nd child molestation arrest in 2 days

The Kershaw County Sheriff's department has made its second arrest for child sexual assault in two days.

On Friday, deputies say they arrested 38-year-old James Owens of Lee County on criminal sexual conduct with a minor charges. Sheriff Jim Matthews says Owens is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 and two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 14.

Earlier this month, a family member called the sheriff's department saying Owens was sexually molesting three sisters, ages 15,14 and 12. 

Sheriff Matthews says the 15-year-old told investigators Owens had been sexually abusing her since she was 11 years-old.  The 14 and 12-year-old sisters told investigators Owens had begun sexually abusing them recently.

After investigators interviewed Owens, he was arrested. Owens is awaiting a bond hearing at the Kershaw County Detention Center.

On Thursday, deputies arrested 25-year-old Brian Robert Sharpe of Johnsonville after an 8-year-old girl said he sexually assaulted her.

Sharpe is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11.
