RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Richland County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for someone who vandalized several area churches.

Sheriff Leon Lott says "it is unfortunate that criminals are stooping to the lowest levels by desecrating houses of worship."

Investigators say someone vandalized the parking lot at St. Johns Lutheran Church on St. Johns Road in Irmo in May and left behind alcoholic beverages.

Some time between noon on Friday, July 6th and 10:00 a.m. Saturday, someone spray painted "There is no God" on the Shady Grove United Methodist Church on Shady Grove Road in Irmo. Investigators say the vandals also spray painted "Atheism" on a concrete slab near the church entrance.

And some time overnight the next day, deputies say vandals attacked the Family Life Center at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church by spray painting "God=Delusion" on the building.

If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
