FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two men and a 16-year-old juvenile from Columbia are accused of breaking into several Fairfield County homes and stealing over $6,000 worth of items.
The Fairfield County Sheriff's Department says TV's, guns, and jewelry were among the things stolen from several homes on June 6th. Investigators say the break-ins happened in the southern part of the county.
Chief Deputy Keith Lewis says the 16-year-old juvenile was pulled over in Columbia and found with a gun believed to have been stolen from a Fairfield County home. He says they were able to track the gun through the serial number.
After that, according to Lewis, the juvenile led investigators to an abandoned house in Columbia where the rest of the guns were being stored. He says they were found under the house.
The investigation also led authorities to Darius Walker and Calvin R. Graham, both of Columbia. Lewis says all three will be charged with the burglaries.
The three individuals are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The jail's web page says Graham is also charged with violation of probation and giving false information to police.
Walker has additional charges of burglary, failure to stop for blue lights, and shoplifting according to the jail's web page.
Lewis says the are confident the three are responsible for at least four burglaries in Fairfield County. He says they are trying to determine if they were responsible for other incidents in the county.
