A South Carolina man faces federal fraud and conspiracy charges after authorities say he masterminded a three-year scheme that faked store refund transactions totaling more than $600,000 from Walmart stores in the Carolinas.More >>
CORNELIUS, NC (AP) - A North Carolina man has died after he was hit by a truck following a chase involving another vehicle.
Officials say Kevin Andrew Sweet of Cornelius died early Saturday when he was hit by a truck driven by a Winston-Salem man.
The father of the suspect says the death occurred after an argument over who had the best truck.
23-year-old Jacob Andrew Kost has been charged with murder.
Richard Kost says he spoke with his son in a call from jail and says he was told that there had been an argument at a nightclub about who had the best truck.
Jacob Kost is also charged with driving while impaired, felony hit and run and driving with a revoked license. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
