COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

If you have idea for an iPhone app, two college students want to hear it. Here's the deal: you pitch the idea, they create it, sell it, and you get paid.

The young 20-somethings make up the company 52 Apps and they're in search of the next big app.

The company held an event on Friday to hear ideas from anyone who had one. C'iana Barker, a USC student, was one of the first to share her idea: a game that would help people lose weight.

"I think it can bring the Average Joe into the arena where he or she would have never been able to get before," Barker said.

The company was created by two undergraduate engineering students, Christopher Thibault and Brendan Lee. Their first success was an app called smartNote, and it received over 500,000 downloads.

The two friends have partnered with USC and a team of student program developers.

"There's a severe lack of good applications out there," Lee said. "There's a ton of apps, but we really think we can make a difference in what's available and the quality of what's available."

"We're going to build an application every 5 days," Thibault said. "We will brainstorm and decide which app we'll build Monday morning. On Friday evening, the app will be submitted for review to Apple."

If the app is approved, the company promotes and sells the product. It could potentially be a nice money maker for all involved. For example, if the app rakes in $100,000 in revenue, 52 Apps says the app's idea creator could get as much as 10 percent of the profit.

For some, it's not about the money, but more about the opportunity to bring a simple thought to life.

"They said they'll get back to me later and hopefully it'll be a positive," Barker said.
