SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, SC (WIS) -

Officials at Shaw Air Force Base have scheduled a memorial for an airman who died recently while he was on leave.

According to 1st Lt. Ann Blodzinski, Air Force Tech Sgt. Kenneth E. Moore, Jr., 36, died of a bilateral pulmonary embolism on Thursday.

A bilateral pulmonary embolism is described by the Mayo Clinic as a "blockage in one or more arteries in [the] lungs".

Moore was visiting his wife and children during his 30-day leave from his one year deployment in Afghanistan.

The memorial has been scheduled June 19 at 11 a.m. the 169th Fighter Wing headquarters auditorium at McEntire Joint National Guard Base.

Moore is survived by his mother and father, wife, two daughters, and a son.
