Five students were shot at Chardon High School on Monday, February 27th, 2012.

Victim #1 - Daniel Parmertor, 16, died at MetroHealth Medical Center of a gunshot wound to the head.

Danny's brother, Domenick, said Danny was the happiest kid on the planet and he loved everyone. Danny knew everything about computers, and was also very excited to receive his first paycheck.

Danny is the grandson of long-time Beachwood High School wrestling coach Domenick Iammarino. In honor of Danny, the wrestling team will wear a red band on their singlets with the initials DP at the state match this weekend.

Victim #2 – Russell King, Jr., 17, died at MetroHealth Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the head.

Victim #3 – Demetrius Hewlin, 16, died at MetroHealth Medical Center.

His mother said her Demetrius loved to eat, enjoyed playing games on his computer and music, especially Erykah Badu. He also wanted to play football, and intended to play for Chardon next year. He treated his body like a temple, and worked out 6 days a week. Demetrius' mother said it was her son's decision to become an organ donor.

Victim #4 – Nick Walczak, 17, transferred from Hillcrest Hospital to Metro Health Medical Center for Intensive Rehabilitation

Nick's mother said her son was shot four times - in the arm, neck and back. Nick has no feeling is his legs due to spinal shock, but doctors are cautiously optimistic about his recovery. He will get spine therapy.

His mother also credits a teacher, Mr. Ricci, for saving her son's life. Mr. Ricci pulled Nick into his classroom to safety after he was shot in the hallway.

On Monday, March 5th, Nick was transferred from Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital to Metro Health Medical Center for Intensive Rehabilitation.

Victim #5 – Joy Rickers, 18, treated and released from Hillcrest Hospital
