COPY-Warrant issued for man accused of burning a flag

A man set to be arraigned on Friday accused of stealing an American flag and setting it on fire, was a no show at court.

Court documents state that Ronald Cockrell, 32, removed an American flag from South Avondale Elementary school on Thursday.

Police say that Cockrell burned the flag at the base of the Abraham Lincoln statue at the corner of Reading and Rockdale Roads.

There is now a warrant out for his arrest on charges of theft and desecration.
