COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Family and friends of a local businessman who vanished without a trace over the weekend will gather to pray for his safe return tonight.

A candlelight vigil for Tom Sponseller will be held on the State House grounds in downtown Columbia from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Sponseller, who is the president of the South Carolina Hospitality Association, has not been seen or heard from since he visited his Lady St. office Saturday afternoon.

Family members reported Sponseller missing Saturday night after repeated attempts by relatives and friends to contact him directly were unsuccessful.

Police found his car parked next to his office, but it did not yield any evidence in the lobbyist's disappearance.

Call 1-888-CRIME-SC if you have any information that might help police.
