COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Columbia Police Department has released the name of a woman wanted for running from the scene of a crash involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

Warrants have been issued for 20-year-old Whitley Monique Watson. Once police catch up with her, she is expected to be charged with hit and run, driving under suspension, open container in a vehicle and use of vehicle without owner's consent.

Police say Watson was driving when she crashed into a Richland School District One school bus at the intersection of Ashley and Middleton Streets Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses say after the crash, Watson ran from the scene.

One child was taken to the hospital and his injuries were not reported as serious.

A spokesperson from Richland School District One says 25 kids from Alcorn Middle School were on the bus when the accident happened.

Detectives found several containers of alcohol and questioned a passenger in the vehicle about the crash.

If you have any information about the Watson, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
