AIKEN, SC (WIS) - A 71-year-old Aiken man was killed Tuesday following an accident on on Lakeside Drive, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
Coroner Tim Carlton says Douglas Bevard was driving his 2006 Ford F-150 truck down the street when he left the roadway and struck a tree.
Bevard was not wearing a seat belt and investigators speculate he may have been driving at a high rate of speed when the crash happened. Alcohol has also been considered as a factor in the crash.
The crash is being investigated by the Aiken Department
of Public Safety, the South Caroina Highway Patrol, and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
