WASHINGTON, DC (WIS) - South Carolina's own Darius Rucker finds himself on President Obama's re-election song playlist not once, but twice.

Obama's re-election staff released a song list of 28 selections that crowds will be hearing at public events, rallies, and rope lines leading up to November's presidential election.

Rucker's songs, "This" and "Learn To Live" join tunes by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Frankiln and U2.

Also making the cut was Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," "Love You I Do" by Jennifer Hudson, and "Keep Marchin"' by Raphael Saadiq. Earth, Wind & Fire, Booker T & The MG's and The Impressions are also listed.

Darius Rucker, a Charleston native, made a name for himself while he was front man for Hootie & the Blowfish in the mid 90's. The quartet met while they were freshmen at the University of South Carolina.

A monument to the band stands on Santee Ave. in Five Points.

Rucker is currently working on his third solo album and will spend much of the next few months on the road, opening for Lady Antebellum's Own the Night tour.

The Obama camp says it's paying to use the music on the playlist, which was chosen by staffers and includes a few of the president's favorites.
