COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia police are investigating a fatal shooting in an apartment complex parking lot Friday morning.
A police department spokesperson said officers responded to the Gable Oaks Apartments on Colleton St. shortly after 7:00 a.m. to reports of shots fired.
Once on the scene, officers found a man dead. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the man as 46-year-old Warren Nelson. Watts says Nelson died of several gunshot wounds to the upper body.
