Recipe from Diana of Arizona
2 and 1/2 lb. Hamburger
1 small onion chopped
1 stick celery chopped
1 small can of green chilies chopped
1 package of taco seasoning
2 tbsp butter
2 cans refried beans
1 block of cream cheese (microwave for 45 sec or until melted/blended)
1 1/2 lb cheese your favorite
1 package tortillas
Sauté the onion and celery in butter.Cook the hamburger half way and drain the juice.Add the onion and celery mix and finish cooking till the meat is browned.Drain the meat again and add the taco seasoning and green chilies.Using a 9 X 13 pan (sprayed with Pam) place two tortillas to cover the bottom. Now use half of the beans to spread over the bottom tortillas. Now spread the hamburger mixture over the beans. Then spread half of cheese on top.Repeat to make layers. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until the cheese on top is melted. It also tastes good if you substitute the refried bean mixture with 2 cans of tomatoes with green chilies.
