A Mount Pleasant couple charged with the murder of their 9 month old son now want a trial.
In July of 2010 the couple was charged with homicide by child neglect in the death of their youngest son Andrew.
The Gordon's called 911 when they realized their baby stopped breathing. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Charleston County Coroner's Office stated the cause of death was due to starvation because of inadequate feeding.
The infant went from weighing 8 lbs 4 oz at birth to 6lbs 9 oz. Mount Pleasant police were called to the Gordon home on Tomota Court where they discovered soiled clothes and bottles with sour milk inside Andrew's crib.
Ninth circuit solicitor Scarlett Wilson said it's not uncommon for court hearing's to be canceled.
"We had a hearing scheduled for today. That hearing was continued. We had some discussions about selecting a trial date. I think we will be able to come up with a date where all the main witnesses are available within the next six months," said Wilson.
The Gordon's two other children were taken into protective custody at the time of their arrest. The couple was denied bond in July of 2010.
The couple could be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. Their trial date has not been set.
