ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - A York County man is accused of trying to kick out the window of a police cruiser when he were arrested in Myrtle beach and charged with beating his girlfriend and her teenage son so severely that they had to be hospitalized.
According to the York County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Kimberly Dawn Faile-Bryant and her teenage son were severely beaten during an attack at their Elder Road home in Rock Hill on Wednesday night.
Deputies say when they arrived, they found Faile-Bryant and her 16-year old son with serious injuries and both had to be airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center-Main. Deputies say the teen was listed in critical condition, Faile-Bryant was listed in serious condition.
An 11-year old child was also at the home but was not injured in the attack, deputies say.
Deputies say they received information that Faile-Byrant's boyfriend, Danny Ray Pittman, was located in a mobile home park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
According to an Horry County Police report, officers went to a home along Aquarius Drive and was told by the homeowner that Pittman was inside. When officers entered the home, they found him laying down in a bedroom.
Pittman appeared to be cooperating with police and allowed himself to be taken into custody, the report states, but as officers stepped away they heard a loud bang coming from the cruiser.
According to the report, the rear right window of the cruiser had been pushed out slightly, but was still attached to the vehicle. When asked if he had kicked out the window, Pittman reportedly told officers that he was just attempting to get their attention.
A police van was then called to take Pittman to jail and he was booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County at 12:40 a.m. Friday morning.
Faile-Byrant's vehicle was also recovered in Myrtle Beach, it had reportedly gone missing after she and her son were attacked.
York County deputies obtained arrest warrants on Pittman for two counts of Attempted Murder.
Currently, Pittman has criminal charges of Damage to Property and Assault 3rd Degree on him from Horry County and is being held on a $1,000 bond. Due to those charges, it is not known exactly when Pittman will be returned to York County.
Witnesses told York County deputies that Faile-Byrant's Pittman had been at the residence, during, or at least prior to the assault.
