CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A fire was reported Tuesday afternoon at Joe Gibbs Racing in Huntersville.

Huntersville firefighters responded to the NASCAR racing shop around 2:40 p.m.

Video from Sky 3 shows firefighters removing burned machinery from inside one of the garages at the shop.

They were hosing the items down with water as they were brought out of the shop.

The bins that catch metal shavings from a metal cutting machine caught fire after the filters ignited, according to a release from the Huntersville Volunteer Fire Department.

10 employees attempted to put out the fire with fire extinguishers and suffered smoke inhalation. They were treated on scene.

Investigators from the Occupational and Health Safety Administration responded as well.
