Richland Co. schools in session after delay

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Six Richland One schools are in session after being delayed for two-hours Friday morning while law enforcement authorities searched for a man accused of robbing someone and killing a Richland County K9 deputy.

School district officials said after consultation with law enforcement officials, it was determined that the rest of the school day could proceed as planned.

The six delayed schools were: Alcorn Middle, Eau Claire High, Arden Elementary, Heyward Gibbes Middle, Hyatt Park Elementary and E.E. Taylor Elementary.

Under the two-hour delayed start, classes at elementary schools began at 9:30 a.m., middle schools began at 10:45 a.m., and high schools began at 10:00 a.m.
