The Heritage at Lowman Retirement Community announces three professional appointments to the campus leadership team

Mimi Morrill, LPN has been promoted to the position of Assistant Administrator for the Heritage at Lowman campus. Ms. Morrill joined the team in 2010 as Director of Memory Support. Mimi is dually licensed as a NHA and CRCFA (Nursing Home and Community Residential Care Facility Administrator). Ms. Morrill brings with her over eighteen years of experience in the areas of geriatric nursing as a licensed nurse. She is also a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) Clinical Instructor through South Carolina DHEC and a Certified Family Caregiving Instructor through the American Red Cross. In her new position, Mimi will be in charge of daily operations in the Health Care Center and oversight of the memory support program.

With Mimi Morrill's promotion, Barbara Oliver, LPN has been appointed as our new Director of Memory Support. Barbara began her career in healthcare in the mid 1990's as an activity assistant for a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. After a few years, she was promoted to Activity Director. Her passion for the elderly continued to grow and she decided to further her education and become an LPN. She has worked consistently since that time with the elderly and has expertise in the care of Alzheimer's residents. Barbara's years of experience as a Residential Services Director for assisted living/dementia care units make her especially qualified for this role. As the program Director her primary responsibilities will be managing the daily operations of the Memory Support Center dedicated to the care of up to 48 persons with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases. She will work closely with staff, families and residents to assure individualized therapeutic care and wellness programming for each resident. With her expertise in the care of person's with Alzheimer's, Ms. Oliver will provide leadership to the Heritage‘s family and professional educational series and symposiums and facilitate a monthly caregiver support group.

Ashley Hyman has been promoted to the Director of Active Lifestyle and Independent Living position. Ashley has a vast amount of experience with the Heritage at Lowman. She has served Lowman residents for over seven years in multiple positions including the Life Enrichment Coordinator, Director of Sales and Marketing, and Wellness Director. Ashley's is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University. Her portfolio, of training and certification, ranges from wellness to program management. In her new role, she will manage the hospitality and food service, community outreach, life enrichment, music, volunteer services, wellness nurse, and wellness departments. She will be the point of contact for all the needs and services of the Heritage at Lowman Active Lifestyle Programs including the Independent Apartments and Active Lifestyle Garden Homes.
