LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - One man is dead after losing control of his car while driving at a high rate of speed Monday afternoon, according to the coroner.
Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman said 33-year-old Michael H. Powers of Gilbert was traveling southbound on Juniper Springs Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 1998 Ford Escort, overturned several times, and was ejected from the vehicle.
The accident happened around 3:00 p.m. on Monday in the 900 block of Juniper Springs Road in Lexington.
Harman said Powers was transported to Lexington Medical Center where he later died.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
