COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The city of Columbia helped kick off the Give 11 in 2011 campaign last week by naming February 11, the Day of COR.
COR is a volunteer based non-profit focused on engaging Columbia's talented next generation in making a difference right here in their hometown.
Mayor Steve Benjamin said that in order for us to achieve our potential as a city, we must retain the best and brightest as well as activate our citizens to invest in themselves and our community.
The Give 11 in 2011 campaign asks city residents to:
- give 11 hours of service to the community
- invest 11 hours in personal leadership development,
- tell 11 friends and colleagues to start the dialogue and
- take 11 minutes to learn about the issues facing Columbia.
