Columbia man armed during home invasion arrested

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Columbia man was arrested and charged in connection to a Fairfield County home invasion last month.

Brandon Walker was taken into custody Friday and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm along with unlawful carrying of a pistol. The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office said he had ties to the area, and they were also looking to talk to other persons-of-interest in this case.

The sheriff's office said on January 26th, 44-year-old Dennis Davis of Ridgeway was in his kitchen when he heard a knock at the front door. When he went to answer it, deputies said a suspect pointed a gun at him. They said the two got into a fight that extended into the front yard before a second suspect appeared with a shot gun. Deputies said that suspect was Walker.

At that time, the sheriff's office said Davis fled the scene on foot while the two suspects attempted to flee in a Dodge Caravan. Deputies said the vehicle ended up getting stuck in a ditch right across from the home and the suspects abandoned it.

A Columbia woman reported that vehicle stolen at a later date, according to deputies.
