COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - If you live in the South Kilbourne area of Columbia, you can now safely drink your water.
The City of Columbia Water Works said Friday the water customers of the South Kilbourne Area from Riviera Road to Prentice Avenue and South Prospect Street to South Kilbourne Road no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.
Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works. The results of this sampling indicate that the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
The City of Columbia issued a boil water advisory Wednesday after a water main break in the area.
