AIKEN, SC (WIS) - The Aiken Department of Public Safety reported that three armed robberies took place in the city during a 24-hour period Friday night into Saturday.

Lt. David Turno said a man entered a home in the 100 block of Williamsburg Street around 7:30pm Friday and demanded the person inside give him tax return money. He said when the victim didn't comply with the suspect's wishes, the man shot the victim in the leg.

The suspect is described as 6'3" tall and was last seen wearing a green hoodie, black pants, and a black sweater hat.

The second incident occurred just before 10:30pm Friday on Hampton Avenue. Lt. Turno said the victim was assaulted by two men who robbed him at gunpoint by taking his cell phone and cash. He said the victim was able to identify one of the suspects as 20-year-old Marquis Devin Hicks.

Hicks is wanted on an arrested warrant for armed robbery, assault and battery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The last armed robbery took place just after 5:00am Saturday at the Huddle House on Richland Avenue. Lt. Turno said a man entered the store with a rusty rifle, took the register and fled the scene.

He is described as around six feet tall and was last seen wearing a camo jacket.

If you have any information that could help law enforcement solve these incidents, you are asked to call the Aiken Department of Public Safety at 803-642-7620 or Crimestoppers.
