RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Richland County School District Two bus struck an eight-year-old student Thursday afternoon near Sandlapper Elementary School, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the bus driver had just left the school and was unloading students. They said Justin Earl and another student were playing around the bus and Justin ran under it as it was pulling away. The Highway Patrol reported the bus ended up striking him in the leg.
Justin was taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The other 40 students on the bus at the time of the incident were not injured.
Troopers said no charges are being filed at this time.
