COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Some patrons of one of Columbia's oldest restaurants have turned high tech in an attempt to keep its doors open.
More than 600 S&S patrons "like" a Facebook page dedicated to saving the restaurant's sole Columbia location.
The S&S Cafeteria at Richland Mall is scheduled to close its doors January 30. The restaurant's owners say the well-loved lunch spot has lost money over the last four years.
Richland Mall first opened in 1988, but has lost numerous stores and businesses over the past ten years and now S&S will follow.
The manager said last week the store is considering another location in Columbia, where Macon-based chain has done business for generations.
Among the appeals on the Facebook Page came this one, from Emily Letts, "PLEASE keep my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world open!"
Chris Tina posted, "I think a lot of folks went as often as they were able or when they were in the area. I know I go with my dad at least two or three times a month. We don't eat out that often for budget reasons... I know a lot of customers are saying they would gladly eat another meal there per week if it keeps it open!"
