Lexington Co fires can serve as lessons to others

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - There have been a number of fires in Lexington County over the past 24 hours.

Lexington County Fire Chief David Fulmer said it's a reminder to go over your fire plan with your family and to make sure your smoke detectors are working. "That's what saves lives, being able to check your batteries," he stated, "If you have any issues, call your local fire department, and we'll be happy to come out and help you."

Area fire departments do suggest that you check your smoke detectors once every month to keep you and your family safe.
