COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Another place in the Midlands is in need of donations. It's a store that helps kids with cancer.
The Palmetto Thrift Store opened about three years ago. It donates half of its proceeds to Children's Chance. It's the only South Carolina non-profit organization dedicated to providing non-medical support to children facing cancer. The owner Heather Harrison said it's a project close to her heart. "She picked Children's Chance because she had wanted to be a nurse, but she wasn't able to be a nurse. So she loves children so she chose that because it was very near and dear to her heart," said Lisa Rivera of the Palmetto Thrift Store.
The Palmetto Thrift Store indicated it's in desperate need of clothing donations. If you'd like to help, just take your donations to the store. It's located on Fernandina Road in Columbia.
