Casting call announced for new film to be shot in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Calling all professional dancers!

You might have a chance to be part of a new movie that will be shot in Wilmington beginning in February.  The ABC Family film will be titled A Cinderella Story. It is the third film in Warner Bros. Cinderella Story franchise.

Casting company Fincannon & Associates is looking for dancers between the ages of 18 and 24 year old who can do lifts, tumbling and tricks.   You also need to have years of dance and tumbling training.  The company is also looking for jugglers and stilt walkers.

The casting call is open and will take place this Monday, January 17th at Babs McDance Studio, located at 6782 Market Street in Wilmington between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Bring a photograph and be ready to dance to choreography and do free form tricks.

The premise of the movie is along the lines of "High School Musical" and "Glee."  The storyline includes a character named "Cyrano De Bergerac" meeting "Cinderella."  Here's the rest of the pitch:  Over-worked, harried and terrified of being put back in foster care, 17 year old KATIE does her stepmother and step-siblings' bidding without complaining. Vocally gifted, KATIE feels particularly upset when forced to lay down singing tracks so that her untalented stepsister, BEV, can hopefully win a recording contract.

Lucy Hale will star in the film. She currently plays the role of Aria Montgomery on the hit ABC Family's series Pretty Little Liars.

Damon Santostefano will direct the movie. The script was written by Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott. The trio worked together on 2008's Another Cinderella Story starring Selena Gomez.

All of the film's extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles will be cast in Wilmington.  If you're interested in learning more on becoming a part of the production. click here.
