GILBERT, SC (WIS) - Oh, the sweet sound of a crying baby... Parents, you've been there, right? More than likely you have, but you might not have the help that one Midlands mom has!
One day in October, 1-week-old Ryleigh Peter was in her Moses basket in the living room of the Peter's Gilbert home crying. Ryleigh's mother, Audrey, discovered her 4-year-old son, Dylan, standing over the newborn trying to calm her down.
Audrey says "Dylan was tired of hearing his newborn baby sister crying and decided to 'attempt' to sing her to sleep." She picked up her camera and started rolling.
Audrey shared the video of Dylan with WIS. In the video, the baby can be heard crying while Dylan is standing over her and singing "Oh My Darling, Clementine."
It didn't work that day, but Audrey says Dylan is a big help now that his sister is older. He sings everything from Christmas songs to nursery rhymes to his baby sister. "My son sings all the time, in the bathroom, in the bedroom," says Audrey.
"I use him a lot," says Audrey. "He'll put pacifier in her mouth or sing to her."
Ryleigh was born October 4th at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia. The video was shot about a week after she was born.
