COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The USC football team is losing a Gamecock. Wide receiver Demario Bennett has decided to transfer.
It looks as though he's seeking more playing time. The redshirt freshman from Douglas, Georgia played in seven games this season, but he only caught one pass.
Bennett was listed as third string at the end of the season and with receivers Alshon Jeffery, Lamar Scruggs, Ace Sanders, D.L. Moore and Jason Barnes returning, it's going to be a battle next fall for guys at the bottom of the depth chart to inch their way to the top.
It should known by the end of the week where Bennett will continue his career.
USC Wide Receivers Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. said Bennett has talked to Coastal Carolina.
