Gamecock pitcher dismissed from baseball team

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina sophomore pitcher Ethan Carter has been dismissed from the baseball team for a violation of team rules.

Head Coach Ray Tanner made the announcement Tuesday morning.

In 2010, Carter appeared in 24 games and was 3-0 with two saves and a 5.46 ERA.  He struck out 30 batters in 28 innings pitched. He is from Newport News, Va.

Coach Tanner would not comment further on Carter's dismissal.
