COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It was graduation day at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
41 graduates representing law enforcement agencies across the state were recognized. Nine of those graduates will become part of the Columbia Police Department.
Florence McCants with the Criminal Justice Academy had some advice for new graduates. "It's very challenging," McCants expressed, "Don't forget anything that you've learned. Always keep focused with it. Take it back with you to the streets. You're definitely going to use every bit of the training you've been taught."
To make the grade, each person had to complete nine weeks of training, including fitness tests, criminal and traffic law training, and crime scene processing.
