Stopping hunger in the Midlands

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Piggly Wiggly is teaming up with the Harvest Hope Food Bank to help end hunger in the Midlands.

The store delivered 2,500 pounds of non-perishables - like rice, canned fruits and veggies - to feed families in need.

"Through Harvest Hope, we can take a pound of food and make that a meal," said Skot Garrick of Harvest Hope Food Bank, "So what you're seeing is over 2,500 meals that we will be able to provide to families in South Carolina who need a little help right now."

Piggly Wiggly also put together a Facebook campaign where people in the Midlands can come together to generate donations.
