COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A burglar was caught red-handed Thursday morning after a neighbor noticed something suspicious, according to the Columbia Police Department.
CPD spokesman Brick Lewis said the suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, was caught by police around 9:30am with what they believe was a stolen GPS unit in his hands. Officers responded to the house on Louisa Avenue after a neighbor felt something suspicious was going on with the juvenile and called police.
Witnesses also told investigators they saw the suspect leave the house with a bag full of items.
After officers detained the juvenile, they found out he used a brick to break through the window and enter into the home. They also discovered several electronics in the suspect's vehicle.
He is currently being held in the juvenile section of the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
