Spurrier not happy with team's performance

ATLANTA, GA (WIS) - It is becoming a familiar feeling for Gamecock fans at the start of the year - another bowl loss.

South Carolina lost its third consecutive bowl game Friday night in the Chik-fil-A Bowl.

Florida State beat the Gamecocks 26-17 to prevent USC's first ten win season since 1984. USC turned the ball over five times and never really recovered from that.

A very aggravated head football coach said all positions are up for grabs come spring practice, and he says he's not happy with the team's performance in Atlanta.

"It's unfortunate," said Spurrier, "But that's as good as our team could do all year is nine wins. We'll try to get better next year, but we're a long way off from being a real good team."
