COLUMBIA, SC (AP) - South Carolina fans enjoyed a sports season like few other in 2010.
The year of celebrations and championships unprecedented in school history started last January when South Carolina's struggling basketball team toppled top-ranked Kentucky.
It ran through the summer's College World Series triumph and closed this month with the Gamecocks' appearance in the Southeastern Conference football championship game.
Those three major sports each posted a No. 1 upset too.
While the Gamecocks were out front this season, Clemson struggled. Basketball coach Oliver Purnell suddenly left after his third straight NCAA tournament appearance, and the football team finished the regular season 6-6 after losing to South Carolina.
