South Carolinians get late Christmas gift

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It may be a late Christmas present, but many folks took time Sunday to enjoy the rare holiday snow.

Ty Weekley is in town for the holiday. He says he wasn't prepared to see the white stuff this Christmas, and he certainly wasn't dressed for it either. "I'm from Florida," he chuckles, "I don't have warm clothes."

Londa Hicks saw the snow fall overnight Saturday but wasn't much a fan of the white stuff. She was more worried about her commute home from work. "A lot of people don't know how to drive," she claims, "and they still speed. I'm watching them so hopefully no accidents."

Some say it was the perfect weather to build a snowman, and that's what Oumar Diboi did. "I think it's a great snow man," he expresses, "I'm very happy in Columbia SC. That's my first time to make my snow man."

Most people agreed they were going to stay off the roads and just chill out at home.
