Midlands boy's memory continues to help others

BISHOPVILLE, SC (WIS) - One Midlands boy is bringing people together on a day when he would have turned eight-years-old.

Bayler Teal died this past summer of a rare form of cancer, but his memory lives on.

People hit the pavement Friday for a three mile race through the streets of Bishopville in honor of him. His mom and her friends organized the race because they say Bayler, who was a huge Gamecock fan, was also a pretty good athlete.

"We have a foundation in memory of Bayler, and it's called Bayler's Prayers," says Bayler's mom, Trisha Teal, "It goes to the pediatric cancer and blood disorder at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital."

More than 200 people took part in the event and around $5,000 was raised.
