Fire causes major damage to Lexington County house

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Firefighters battle a fully involved house fire early Friday morning in Lexington County.

The Lexington County Fire Department was dispatched to a home in the 2000 block of Augusta Street in the Oak Grove community around 5:30am.

It took crews about 45 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Battalion Chief John Hendrix says the home was unoccupied at the time of fire, and he estimates about $65,000 in property damages.

The incident remains under investigation.
