COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Gamecock football team is currently enjoying a short break before they leave for Atlanta on Sunday.
South Carolina is set to play Florida State a week from Friday.
One player who will be especially excited to play the Seminoles is USC Quarterback Stephen Garcia. He grew up a couple of hours away from Tallahassee and rooted for the Seminoles as a kid - even though they didn't recruit him.
"They didn't really recruit me a whole lot," says Garcia, "It was mainly Florida, but I grew up a Florida State fan. My uncle went there, and it's going to be pretty fun playing against them. I'm looking forward to it. I went to a few games, but I didn't really understand the magnitude of it because I was a little kid. It didn't really affect me at all, other than I didn't like the fact that Florida State lost."
The Chick-fil-A Bowl is set for December 31st at 7:30pm.
