BRANDENBURG, KY - A mother in Kentucky is accused of trying to return some of her children's presents, which were given to them by a local police union.
The Meade County Sheriff's Office said surveillance video showed 28-year-old Amanda Beard returning about $170 worth of presents bought for her four children.
Those kids were each hand-picked for the Fraternal Order of Police's annual Shop-with-a-Cop event. Each child received $150 worth of toys and clothes.
Investigators charged Beard with theft. She has bonded out of jail.
The sheriff said Beard admitted to returning the gifts, but said she did it to buy something her children really needed.
