COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Authorities have identified a man who died after being ejected from his car early Sunday morning in the Rosewood section of Columbia.
32-year-old Kristopher Davis of Columbia died when the car he was driving ran off of South Ott Road and struck a tree, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud crash around 1:50am, but police didn't learn of the wreck until Davis' car was found in the front yard of 714 South Ott Road around 8:30am.
Investigators believe Davis was turning onto South Ott when he ran off the road and struck a tree and a fence.
Davis was ejected from the car and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation.
