AIKEN, SC (WIS) - An 87-year-old Aiken man is stabbed in front of his wife after leaving a local church Friday night.
The Aiken Department of Public Safety says the man and his wife were exiting First Baptist Church Family Ministry Center off Chesterfield Street when a 5'6" man confronted the couple. Sgt. J.D. Mahoney says the suspect demanded money, and after a verbal confrontation, he stabbed the 87-year-old in the upper abdomen.
The suspect took off on foot. He was last seen wearing a dark windbreaker and a dark knit cap.
The victim was transported to the Medical College of Georgia. His condition is not known at this time.
