Kershaw County schools in North Central area under a 2 hour delay

KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Due to black ice, Kershaw County schools in the North Central area (Baron DeKalb Elementary, Bethune Elementary, Midway Elementary, Mt. Pisgah Elementary, North Central Middle and North Central High) will open on a two-hour delay today. Three- and four-year-old students in those schools will not attend at all.  North Central area students will also not attend SEAGUL classes today.

All other Kershaw County schools (ATEC, Blaney Elementary, Camden Elementary, Camden High, Camden Middle, CLC, Doby's Mill Elementary, Jackson, Leslie M. Stover Middle, Lugoff Elementary, Lugoff-Elgin High, Lugoff-Elgin Middle, Pine Tree Hill Elementary and Wateree Elementary) will operate on a normal schedule.  This also includes the district's adult education classes.

School district administrators will continue to monitor weather conditions and will use the school district's automated telephone system, the school district Website at, KCSD Facebook page, and local media to keep the public informed.
